Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a truck, submitting a load request, registering a truck as a third-party owner, or otherwise using the services of Charlie Cargo Logistics ("we", "us", "the Company"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These terms guide how we handle every booking and business relationship — please read them before confirming a booking.

2. Bookings & Confirmation

Submitting a booking or load request through our website, phone, or portal is a request for service, not a guaranteed confirmation. A booking is only confirmed once our team has assigned a truck and driver and communicated this to you. Estimated prices and distances shown at booking time (including any auto-calculated via Google Maps) are estimates and may be adjusted once the actual route, cargo, and conditions are confirmed.

3. Pricing & Payment

Our standard public booking rate is USD 3.20 per kilometer unless a different rate is agreed in writing for a specific consignment or long-term client arrangement. Invoices are issued once a consignment is delivered (or otherwise as agreed), and payment is due using the bank or mobile money details provided on the invoice. Partial payments are accepted and tracked; full settlement is expected within the timeframe stated on the invoice or as otherwise agreed. All payments made are final and non-refundable once received, as confirmed on the payment receipt issued for that payment.

4. Cargo & Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing an accurate description of the cargo being transported, including its nature, weight, and any special handling requirements. Cargo must be lawfully owned, properly packaged, and safe to transport. We reserve the right to decline or delay transport of cargo that is misdescribed, improperly packaged, or that we reasonably believe to be illegal, hazardous, or unsafe without prior written arrangement.

5. Delivery Timelines & Delays

We work to deliver cargo within the timelines communicated at booking. However, timelines can be affected by factors outside our control, including weather, road conditions, mechanical issues, border/customs processes, or other events of force majeure. We will communicate material delays as soon as we are aware of them, but we are not liable for delays caused by such factors.

6. Liability & Insurance

We take reasonable care in the handling and transport of all cargo. Clients are encouraged to arrange cargo insurance for high-value or sensitive shipments, as our liability for loss or damage is limited to what is recoverable under our own insurance arrangements and applicable law. Any claim for loss or damage must be reported to us in writing within 48 hours of delivery (or expected delivery, in case of non-delivery).

7. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Bookings can be cancelled or rescheduled by contacting us as early as possible. Cancellations made after a truck and driver have already been assigned and dispatched toward the pickup location may be subject to a reasonable charge to cover costs already incurred.

8. Third-Party Truck Owners

Truck owners who register their vehicles to join our booking fleet do so subject to our review and approval. We reserve the right to approve, reject, or remove any third-party truck from the fleet at our discretion, including for safety, compliance, or performance reasons. Payment terms, commission arrangements, and driver conduct expectations for approved third-party trucks will be agreed directly with the owner before their truck is activated for bookings.

9. Prohibited Goods

We do not knowingly transport illegal goods, or hazardous/dangerous materials without prior written arrangement and appropriate handling precautions. We reserve the right to refuse any cargo that falls into these categories.

10. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising from our services will first be addressed through good-faith direct discussion between the parties, and if unresolved, may be referred to the appropriate courts or arbitration process within Uganda.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services or operating practices. The current version will always be available on this page, and continued use of our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
